We’re growing a lot (6x YoY last year, and 10x YoY the two years before that)
Incredible culture (our customers keep applying to work here)

We're looking for a Founding UX Researcher who will be the driving force behind making Clay's products more intuitive, delightful, and impactful. As our first dedicated researcher, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape not just our product experience, but our entire approach to user research. You'll be building our research practice from the ground up while working on cutting-edge AI and automation tools that are transforming how businesses grow. If you're excited about wearing multiple hats, establishing research frameworks from scratch, and having an outsized impact on product direction, this role is for you.
How do we balance depth of user insight with the speed needed to iterate and learn quickly?
How do we tell impactful stories from research that resonates with stakeholders?
How do we make research a core part of the product development process?
How can we build a flexible and scalable research strategy that grows with the company?
Establish Research Foundations: Define the UX research strategy and implement best practices to guide how we understand users across the organization.
Lead End-to-End Research: Design and conduct both qualitative and quantitative research studies, from in-depth interviews to usability tests and surveys.
Generate Strategic Insights: Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights that inform product and design decisions.
Collaborate & Influence: Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and leadership to ensure research drives impactful outcomes.
Build a Research Culture: Advocate for user-centric thinking and enable non-researchers to conduct lightweight research with confidence.
7+ years of hands-on UX research experience, ideally in a fast-paced B2B environment
Skilled in a wide range of research methods—qualitative and quantitative—and able to match the approach to the problem.
Experience implementing and using common research tools such as UserTesting, Maze, Qualtrics, and similar platforms
You understand how to translate research findings into concrete product recommendations.
You thrive in cross-functional teams, working closely with product, design, data, and leadership.
Comfort in ambiguity, thriving in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift rapidly.
Based out of a central office on 19th Street in Manhattan's Flatiron District. We love the energy of in-person collaboration while also offering the flexibility to work from home when needed.
Competitive salary and role trajectory: Roles, responsibilities, and comp grow as we do.
Health insurance : Fully funded, high quality health, dental & vision coverage options. Options include a health plan that covers up to 70–80% of out-of-network therapy costs after a deductible is met.
Visa sponsorship: We get it - it's an arduous process, but we're not scared of it.
Paid time off: We expect team members to take at least 3 weeks fully-disconnected per year, with a flexible vacation policy beyond that.
Free food: Free meals in office every day and unlimited snacks.
Parental leave & fertility support: IVF fertility benefits, egg freezing, and 4 months of paid parental leave.
